When we talk about Baylor legacy families, we usually mean an alum whose child or children also attended Baylor. Sometimes the green and gold stretches to include a grandparent, uncle, aunt or cousin. But this — this is a legacy.
Dr. A. Dale Allen, a longtime Hankamer School of Business professor, and his wife, Anita, sent four of their five children to Baylor: Lori Allen Taylor, BBA ’84; Krista Allen Meek, BSED ’86, MSED ’91; Kirk Allen, BBA ’87, MBA ’88; and Tanya Allen Holstead, BBA ’89. That’s a good start.
Those four children have combined to give the Allens 16 grandchildren — including eight who are enrolled at Baylor right now. The first of those will graduate in December. Dr. and Mrs. Allen are pictured above with their eight current Baylor Bears: seniors Cameron Holstead, Cody Holstead and Jessica Taylor; juniors Rachael Brown and Grayson Meek; sophomores Caty Beth Holstead and Rachel Taylor; and freshman Kasie Meek.
I imagine they’ll have quite a gathering at Family Weekend tomorrow and Saturday!
Sic ’em, Baylor legacies!
[Are you part of an extended legacy family? Baylor Magazine wants to know! Click here to submit a Class Note to the magazine; please include a list (with graduation years, if possible) of all the Bears in your family tree. A photo featuring as many of your Baylor family as possible would make your submission even better.]
